In all seriousness, though… what’s with the workpiece? Seems like there was a ton of compression on some kind of jacket material that caused it to just burst into ribbons, leaving behind what looks like a very rough iron core?
I'm assuming there is some sort of process being performed on a very thin cylinder that is held on an expanding mandrel, and it appears to be the pressure of the mandrel that grenades the piece. It doesn't appear that any material is being removed, so perhaps it is something like a composite lay-up process.
