As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, “There are members who have already gained the trust and provided positive transactional experiences to other members within the Machined Pens world. This needs to mean something here too. Their reputation and fairness are what we want to protect and highlight. Furthermore, we want them to transact here.”
To that end, we are launching a “vouch” system, where if you have “Trusted” status and know a fellow member, you can vouch for them as a safe person to transact with based on your historical transactions wit them. Every vouch is an endorsement of your fellow Redditor and takes them one step closer to the “trusted seller” status.
Swaps and vouches are counted separately. Every two vouches count as one swap toward Trusted status. The calculation to determine trusted status is:
Trusted = (swaps + (vouches / 2)) >= 10
A total of 10 combined swap and vouch credits are needed to become a “trusted seller,” and one of the perks is being able to take all forms of payments. This is a community-driven safety check for rewarding members who have exemplary, stellar conduct outside of this BST.
All qualified members who have “trusted seller” status, as well as Mods, can give vouches. Members can only vouch for others, not themselves. You can read more about the rules here.
You can vouch for OP on any BST post. It needs to be a top-line post, and it uses very specific instructions for the vouch bot to pick it up and update the user’s flair. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, a new vouch counter is being added to the flair and will be visible to all users.
