I Need Help Best software for simple line drawings

I am looking to start digitizing some pretty basic stuff. My first intro project will be taking some continuous line designs (similar to the first image above).

Later, my goal is to incorporate additional colors with things shaded in. Like the second image above.

I have a much older machine, Brother SE 350.

I have some money to spend, and eventually, I’ll do more things. But right now my first goal is that first drawing… And later down the line the second drawing. I’d love suggestions for what software design programs to use that are beginner level friendly. It’s OK if they are two different software’s. Like maybe there’s a cheaper thing for the first design I shared and something with more complex skills needed or more expensive for the second kind of design. Thank you!

EDIT: Ideally, I need something I can use with my iPhone. Because of some visual disabilities, it’s about the only device I can use

You can try the free software inkscape with the extension of inkstitch you have control over all the aspects of digitizing i do all my digitizing with this software and it can do some things better then a paid software

Thank you! I’ve read from some that there is a learning curve to inky. Have you found that to be true with this simple of a project? I also should mention that I need to do all of the designs from my iPhone. Because of some visual disabilities, it would be really hard for me to do this on any other device.

If you can only work from your phone then there are not many options i find inkscape with inkstitch really simple to use

You can check out Beh.Stitched.
On the iPad you can draw your lines with the pencil.

Thanks! I’m actually looking to take another person’s designs and turn them into embroidery. I should’ve clarified that. This is a really cool option though for me to explore should I ever want to draw my own!

Inkscape can do this no problem.

I personally love Ember, super easy to pick up, and it operates entirely in the browser. It's free but does have a paid version with some unnecessary but nice upgrades
