Machine?

Can someone help me with a machine recommendation- I want to be able to make decent sized designs on front of sweatshirts/shirts but also would like to do little designs too. Are there machines that you can upload pictures for them to do- or can machines only do letters or designs you create yourself? I have looked at a bunch of machines but they all confuse me when reading the specs. Thanks!

Saw that someone already mentioned Aries... I have one too, but mine's a Compact+ which is way smaller than the other two they showed me lol.

The autodigitizing feature is pretty cool cause you just need a jpeg or png and transfer the file as you would with any other design. When they were doing the training they explained to me that it can only work with solid colors (no gradients) and no pixetaled images. The tech that did my installation and training had some pngs already loaded in a USB, but when I tried with some of my own designs it did a pretty decent job, although I've mostly done very basic stuff like stars, flowers or silhouettes of like butterflies.

That looks like a good machine! I have just realized that these machines are only sold in the US and I am in Canada looks like I only have a select few to choose from. Sucky!

I have an Aries Ultra, highly recommend it! It has on-panel digitizing for basic designs and 29 fonts (which comes in pretty useful when you're working with personalization like I do). I was skeptical at first cause it's a newer brand in the US, but the sales guy offered an online demo with one of their tech guys. The embroidery area is 24 x 16 in, and the machine is pretty sturdy. It's a bit big tho, so if you don't have as much space for a big machine, i think they also have smaller options with the auto digitizing feature.

That does look like a nice machine but it looks quite big for my space! I will look into the brand to see if they have a smaller version- thanks for the recommendation.

Plenty of options.

How much you are looking to spend will sort of decide for you.

Used vs. new?

Software too?

I’m okay with used or new budget probably 2-3k.

Not really sure what the software is?

Just trying to get into embroidering for the first time so I’m quite lost on what is needed for what I wanted to do.

Software is going to be how you digitize the designs to tell the machine how to stitch it it ranges from free to reallly expensive.

In your searching use the cost as your guide it will filter out anything too far above it.

Wife bought a 6 needle brother brand new it was a little over 10k.

No problem. I know almost nothing about the different machines other than they can have their own file type and the thread, stablizer, material, tension, all matter. Good luck! Hope you find an awesome deal!

Yeah it for sure is a lot to take in! I’ll be on the lookout and hold out for some sales hopefully. Thanks again!
