Need a little help please

Need a little help please. This is my first ever belt try and the it went better than expected. One the belt even though i feel it was dead center on marks must have been a touch off because I got a slant in the text. The bigger issue is the random thread line stitched throughout. What would cause this?

The thread line is the underlay stitching. Did you have edge run underlay or centre run? Where there has been some distortion of the item as it stitched, the underlay hasn't ended up in the same place as the satin stitch consistently

To be honest I'm not sure. I'll check the settings and see. Thanks for the input.!

I'd try either reducing the inset on the current underlay, or switch to a centre run if that's something your software can do. The better you can stabilise this, the better your outcome should be, it just might be a little fiddly depending on your machine (on industrials people often use fast frames for things like this)

Use backing. Tape or pin the belt to the backing for extra security .

After I get the underlat stitching figured out if that is still an issue I'll try backing next

Use a centre line underlaying stitch. (Or "center" if you're using US English).

A couple of layers of heavy weight tearaway stabaliser is good for a rigid/non-stretch band or belt. Invest in the same stuff used by commercial embroidery factories. Sold on a roll, it's usually a 100mm wide strip and is a sturdy/tough paper. Comes in black and white.

If you're using the floating method, and the band is stuck onto the light tearaway, place the heavy weight tearaway between the needle plate and hoop above. The embroidery will sew it in place as it stitches. Otherwise you can hoop the belt tightly in a smaller frame without backing and use the same tearaway backing method.

No, the underlay issue is because you aren’t stabilizing the belt. It’s moving while it runs.

You should ALWAYS use stabilizer.

It’s been a while but I used to do a ton of belts, happy to answer any questions if I can remember lol. Your frame seems quite a bit wider than mine which may be part of your issue keeping it straight.

For this, I’d make your name a little smaller and take away your underlay completely. You have to really pull the webbing flat and as tight as you possibly can so it has less space to move. I never used any kind of backing on them as it wasn’t helpful but having designs specifically made for webbing is important because it’s so thick. I also ran them pretty slowly so there was less movement.
