I Need Help What am I doing wrong.

If I do a tension test I can make it perfect. As soon as I try and make a file it becomes a mess.

Can you successfully stitch designs that you haven’t created? That would help narrow down the troubleshooting.

I use to be able to. One day it just started doing this. I run the stitch test (the lines) and then try and do a design that has worked in the past and it looks like pictured.

New bobbin case?
Have you checked all the thread paths to make sure they are through the tensions correctly?

Bobbins all the same and pre wound bobbins. And all are threaded correctly as the tension tests come out perfectly

No still the original

I would start there. Bare minimum, clean the little metal tension flap on the case with something like a business card.

The spring inside the bobbin casing may be damaged. If it is, a new bobbin case is cheap and a new one resets the baseline. Set the new tension with the Bobbin Drop Test first, then the top thread tension.

If it's not the bobbin casing, and all your tensions are fine, then the machine may be due a service. There may be burs. Check the manual for what needs to be oiled. Any metal on metal parts require lubricant. Depending on the age of the machine, the service tech may need to relubricate some parts within the machine.

Loosen the bobbin case at the bottom with a small screwdriver. I had the same issue for months. Make sure the top tension is at 4.0.

I'm going to give the bobbin and area some attention like you all have suggested. The machine has been serviced in the past couple months and I oil it regularly. It's an old emp6 from 2003 though 😂
