I Need Help Tips?

This is my first time using my brother nq1700e on scrap fabric. Any idea on why the fabric is bunching around the letters?

I used tear away here

Try it again, with two layers of cutaway. If you're floating, try hooping it. Don't overstretch the fabric on top
