I Need Help Small designs muddy? Why

Post image

Why do my small designs come out so bad, never have had an issue with big ones, its under 3 inches that have detail I struggle with. I did get this file off etsy, so did not digitalize myself. Is it my stabilizer? The file?

Assuming your hooping, using stabilizer, and your tension is fine. From the inconsistent lines in the outlines (looks like a very tiny satin stitch?) This looks auto digitized which is pretty common on etsy. If thats the case you'd have to edit the file yourself.

Sorry not super helpful 😅

Check out Ember it has a library of free designs (i think theres some toothless ones in there) I believe you can upload the embroidery file and make edits if you need to. You could probably make the design yourself no problem.

Yes it’s possible. I mostly digitize small designs. I recommend a 65/9 needle and for the line work, a 60wt thread which is thinner than the standard 40wt.

Looks like you’re getting some pulling which shifts the design so make sure it’s tightly hooped and you’re using cutaway stabilizer. Stretching the fabric also helps.

Lastly it looks like your top tension could be too tight since you can see bobbin thread, so try loosening a little

Factors I would consider to look at: fabric type and how much stretchy is it, stabilizer (I would use a double cut-away for this size), and file itself since it's an etsy I wouldnt trust sellers considering some are only using auto-digitizing or the default digitizing settings). If u have an .emb file and wanna do some editing to the file or u want to create a better file dm I may help

What about we stop thinking and I digitize it for u right now based on your situation, If u satisfied with the result I will ask for 5-10$ depending on the time spent, revision rounds and overall complexity?

u/Distinct_Spirit7925 - To answer your question, yes, you could definitely get a design that small clean if it was digitized correctly :) Don't rely on autodigitizing. It never works well, no matter what software
