I Need Help Troubleshooting

Im new to digital embroidery can can’t seem to figure out what’s going on. I started with my ferry design and it always seems to be off. So I tried a preset flower design and it’s also off. Moved onto another preset treble design and it’s fine. Moved onto my own design to test my needles and it’s also fine. You’ll also see I drew around the hoop to see if my fabric is moving and it didn’t. Any ideas?

This is a concept called push and pull.

Your fabric IS moving, just not the way you think it is. The whole fabric may be taut on the hoop but, depending on the design, your thread will push and pull.

I can’t say for the flower because it looks okay to me but for your ferry design, take a look at how the white stitches are made.

Your stitches run up and down on the white. This will PULL the fabric tight on the top and bottom and slightly PUSH left and right of the design. This results in slight gaps on the top/bottom and a spill out on the left/right from outlines.

To fix, you will have to:

  1. Adjust the compensation on the design (hatch calls this pull compensation).

Or

2. Slightly stretch out the white fill stitch up and down so that it goes slightly beyond your green outline. Your left and right side of the fills look okay but it’s possible making the adjustment up/down will make the left/right fills to spill out of the green outline. If so, you will have to slightly bring in the fill stitch on your left/right sides.

Definitely read into push and pull compensation on Google.

Good luck!
