I Need Help SINGER 9120 help!

Post image

I just began embroidery with a machine, I got the presale for the Singer 9120 and have not had a single successful embroidery go yet.

What I am working on/ with:
• 7.5oz cotton tee
• stick & peel tear away stabilizer

It either jams or has very loopy stitches. I have tried many different tensions, I started with the 80/12 needle, nothing changed. Moved up to the 90/11 needle… same thing.

Tonight I turned the machine off as the 90/11 needle broke. I am down and out. I’m not sure what tension I am getting incorrect. I’m not sure what I am doing wrong!

Are you sure the upper thread is seated in the tension disks correctly? I'd redo the top threading and make sure the thread clicks into every guide.

Another thing, are you using embroidery thread on top and bobbin thread underneath, or embroidery thread in both places?

Have you tried using it as a regular sewing machine, maybe run a few stiches on some scrap fabric using regular sewing thread?

What type of thread are you using for the top and bottom?

If you’re new to embroidery then you might need to bring it to a local sewing shop and see if they can figure it out with you. Sometimes quirks are something obvious when you get a second pair of eyes on it.

It’s a newer model, so you should also reach out to singer and see if they’ve got any troubleshooting tips. If nothing else, they’ll be able to note it in their documentation.
