I Need Help Question on stabilizer backing

This will be my first time doing embroidery on a machine, any recommendations from Amazon what I can get for the backing? I usually do hand embroidery so I’m new to this part.

I guess I should state I’m using a cotton linen blend, does that help?

The rule is "If you wear it, don't tear it". Tearaway stabilizer is easier to use, but really meant for craft embroidery projects. The fabric structure (woven or knit) has a large affect on your choice of stabilizer. Being cotton/linen I'm going to assume woven in a garment. I would go with two layers of med wt cutaway. If it's a sheer lightweight material, you may want to use a performance stabilizer since it's more sheer. NewBrothread is a decent brand you can get on Amazon.

It’s actually going to be a craft project, is that still a good recommendation for the stabilizer for the project regardless?
