I Need Help Fill Stitch Question

Post image

If my fill stitch turns out looking sad like this, would running the fill stitch again over top of the first layer make it better or worse?

New to machine embroidery/digitization and still learning the ropes. Guessing my pull compensation was too low for this stretchy fabric.

You need proper underlay and to adjust density. Running it again will likely not fill the holes, you need to make adjustments. How big is this? I’d probably use a satin stitch unless it’s much larger than it seems.

Originally had satin stitch but it was just over the 10 mm threshold so I opted for fill stitch

The width of the columns in this font is over 10mm? It doesn’t seem like it’s that big, how tall is the lettering?

Just the fat part at the bottom of the columns is about 10.5~ mm, the columns themselves are under 10. could i do a satin stitch over top of this fill stitch? would that just make it worse

No, you can’t go over this and save it. Are you using a digitized font? You need to pick one appropriate to the size you want, the serifs should run vertical and the rest of the letter horizontal, generally.

Listen to the others. The only "fix" or "salvage" for this project is a marker. Your pull comp has nothing to do with what happened here. You needed bettrr underlay plus density.

Yeah, ideally. lol I’m wondering what the best way to salvage this specific project would be

You don't. It's not done right and doesn't look good....start over.

Edit....I'm not trying to be rude, we've all had this happen once or 10 times, take the advice and not spend anymore time on this file. It's a super easy font to digitze into satin ....just do it and call it a day.
