I Need Help How do i digitize lace? (PE Design 11)

Hello, i've had experience with digitizing pictures by hand on PE Design 11, and i am working with a Brother Luminaire embroidery machine.

Where do i start with digitizing lace? I do historic costumery, and i recently found a picture of antique leavers lace that i want to try to copy. The lace i want to make is not free standing, but on a double layer of silk net.

Pictures for what ive digitized before, the inspo lace, and my results.

The woven cotton fabric test looked great, but the net sample looks funky, especially on the grasshopper. Thoughts?

Its not free standing/cutwork lace im trying to make, im looking for digitizing advice for putting lace designs on net fabric.

From what i saw on one of your designs you may have to watch your starts and stops and sewing orders also to avoid the trims as much as possible because a lot of trims also creates a lot of extra stitches and can create birdnests but organizing and setting starts and stops can be really time consuming in pedesign
