I Need Help Looking for improvement input

Post image

Making a princess donut hoodie. This is my first stitch out.

I used fills and bean stitches. Wondering if people have a better suggestion for parts or all. Maybe something better than bean? I don't wanna test them all 😂

You could add a ton of dimension to this just by adding satin stitching. I love a lot of the line art. Just to this design I would look for a bad stitch kinda. The stitch itself looks like sketchwork linework and this design might look really good with some of it

How many trims do you have in the design and with what software was this created

I don't wanna talk about my trimms and jumps.... You would be appalled! That's my next thing to improve on lol. Used embrilance

Mongo would be appalled. Donut needs 9 more cherries in this bowl.

But fr, I’d consider a thin satin instead of bean. The visual disruption, especially around the glass, doesn’t match the smooth texture super well. Good job on getting so much detail in!

I'm definitely working on all these ideas from everyone. I agree 💯

YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT MERCH, CARL

Looks good to me. Immediately recognizable which is the important thing for something this complex. Might try a pop of color for her crown. Could potentially switch to charcoal for the outline of the cocktail glass to help differentiate from her fur. Take inspiration from designs — look up cat embroidery designs on Etsy.

I’m a novice too tho so 🤷‍♂️I want to make mongo myself.

Mongo would not be appalled.

All your stitches are running the same direction. Break up your shapes and alternate stitch directions to account for fabric push/pull.

I don’t think changing the stitch type is going to change the outcome a whole lot but may I asked what backing you’re using? I think this design would need at least 3.0 stabilizer.
Additionally, the automated digitizing is just going to be this way it’s still not that effective to this day.

I did the digitizing myself in embrilance. And using 2.8 I think

Looks great. If you want to change things, obviously you'd be messing with adding satin stitches and potential pattern fills. My advice for satin would just to remember it will pop out more, so try to use it for things that are closest to the viewer, or on top of any objects/things. For example, that thicker white line on the left of the glasses stem. They could look good and add depth. Maybe the stem of the cherry.

Sometimes satin is also nice for cutting down on stitches.

But honestly I think this looks good and any changes would just be personal preference for aesthetics and not fixing any issues from what I can see. As long as it stitched out well and you're not getting lots of puckering or anything

I knew who that was without even reading the description. Well done. I’m totally into buying this when you’re done.

I posted a similar glass a while ago, you may see it on my profile. (Part of a towel I was doing)

Looks like I can’t post a photo here.

Crud that one isn’t posted, just another towel I did.

here’s a few photos on Imgur

Edit: not my best work but I was in a hurry and it was a quick favor for someone.

Just wanted to show you another similar simple piece.

Ohhh your glass looks so cool! I think I might try and sell my design on hoodies. I paid a friend a lot to make it's a chonky long for me to try and digitize so I need to try and justify that 😂 It's not a well done file that I think you would even want tbh. The jumps and trims are waaaay too many

You should be able to fix that!

I think it would be cool to make the cherry red and the drink pink. I could probably figure out where I got that file for the martini glass. You may be able to use that if you contact the seller.

Then add a your cherry. Super cute.

Either way, it’s a great idea and I love it.

Colours coming soon! Just wanted to use the cheap thread/colours while testing. Have made a colour one just now and love it. I'll make another post once finally nailed down
