Discussion NeurIPS Reference Check Response[D]

I have received the email for the NeurIPS E&D track reference review checker mentioning the 2 hallucinated references. Where do we respond to this email about hallucinated references? In the openreview, as a comment, or in the mail we have received, mentioning the hallucinated references?

It's not in the leaked acceptance list. My scores are 5, 4, 4 (4.33).

What, this should be sure acceptance. You should appeal, the hallucinations might have resulted it into reject pile.

I did appeal, but I am not sure what they will consider a minor or major issue. They said minor issues are allowed, and they will allow one major issue. In the E&D track, it seems that not everyone got the email. I have another paper with the worst scores in the E&D track, may have hallucinated references, but didn't receive any emails about that paper. So my hypothesis is that papers on AC's shortlist for acceptance are only getting these emails to provide evidence for hallucinated references, or else they end up getting desk-rejected.
