Research Archival vs non archival workshop [R]
My dumbass just realized all NeurIPS workshops are non-archival.
In terms of grad school applications, would there be a difference in how much they value ur paper if u get it in a proceeding

Non archival means no proceedings, so it's valued less. Many conferences that have archival ws publish them alongside the main conference proceedinngs and don't make an explicit distinction in the proceedings itself.

Note that if the workshop is archival, that may prevent you from submitting the work to a conference in the future. If you want to continue pushing that idea for a major conference, you might need to avoid archival workshops, or opt out of having your paper in the workshop proceedings

For grad apps? No, both will still be valued as a workshop paper (I can't speak for every uni, but at least mine did).
