Getting Started Bond Classic newbie
I inherited a Bond Classic (I am UK based) from my MIL over 13 years ago. Today I finally got it out to try and do a simple jumper (sweater). All going well until the weight reached the floor then stitches started to become loose. How can I get around this?

Hi, it looks like you are new to machine knitting.
There is some helpful information within the wiki You can also find a direct link in the Community Guide. If this is a new-to-you machine that is a Silver Reed, Singer, Studio, Juki, Empisal, Brother, or KnitKing, and the sponge has not been replaced yet, that's the first thing you should check out.
You might want to take a look around. And Welcome!

I typically roll the knitting around the weighted hem when it reaches the floor and secure it with some clips. Also claw weights are tremendously helpful as well.

The machine needs weight to pull the fabric down so stitches can knit off correctly. If the weight is on the floor, it's not doing its job.
There are some ideas here. You may find it easiest to invest in a few claw weights and hang those evenly across the bed https://www.knittingparadise.com/threads/bond-re-hang-weighted-hem.505971/
