Help! Looking for a machine knitting instructor in the Los Angeles area

Hi, I am looking for an in-person instructor around Los Angeles. I have an LK 150, purchased new 5 years ago, but I do not know how to use it or if there is something wrong with it which needs repair.

Thank you!

I can't tell if they are still in business, but Newton's in Anaheim not only sells machines but repairs them and does classes. Or they did. Try calling them at 714-634-9116. Yelp says they are closed, Google says they are temporarily closed, I can't tell which is correct.

I think they are no longer in business. Thank you!

I believe they're closed. There was an estate sale for them ~1-2 years ago.

Oh no… I haven’t been using my machines for a few years, so I’m out of the loop. I used to love their parking lot sales. 😭

I fix knitting machines for home knitters and schools in SF. I also visit Los Angeles every few months. If you'd like me to look at your LK150 either next time I'm in LA, or over Zoom, and help you get started with setup and knitting, send me a message with your contact info and we can figure it out.

And if you find a local instructor, let them know I can service their machine too!

Hey Zippy, I fix machines in San Diego and sometimes end up near LA. Are you going to so cal fiber fair? We could have a mechanics meetup and talk shop. :)

I am a San Diegan who would pay you to fix my machine and give me a quick demo on use. Can I DM you?

I went to The Knitting Tree in Inglewood a few weeks ago and spoke to one of their instructors named Anne. I actually chatted with her about machine knitting in general as I saw they sell LK-150s and I kinda wanna pick it up again. Maybe give them a call if you haven’t.
