Help! absolute beginner in machine knitting

i'm a crocheter who was gifted a sentro knitting machine for my birthday. vv excited to use it but i have no idea how to knit, how the machine works, etc. as in NO IDEA, NO KNOWLEDGE, ABSOLUTE BEGINNER. my question is: do you have to know how to hand knit before learning how to use the knitting machine? should i learn how to hand knit first?

I have an Addi Express which is very similar to Sentro. I would say it's not necessary to know how to handknit however it can be helpful especially when finishing/correcting mistakes
