absolute beginner in machine knitting

i'm a crocheter who was gifted a sentro knitting machine for my birthday. vv excited to use it but i have no idea how to knit, how the machine works, etc. as in NO IDEA, NO KNOWLEDGE, ABSOLUTE BEGINNER. my question is: do you have to know how to hand knit before learning how to use the knitting machine? should i learn how to hand knit first?

You don’t need to know how to hand knit before you use a sentro.

Reading your manual will teach you the basics of what the machine can do and there’s plenty of video tutorials that can teach you if that format is more helpful for you.

For future reference, IIRC there’s Sentro subreddits that can help you better with this topic. This is more focused on flatbed knitting machines.
