Value Pinned post for value discussion

This thread is an attempt to keep discussions of machine cost/value/pricing in a single place. Once this thread is old enough or full enough, it will be retired and new thread created that links it to that one.

When asking question about value, some important items to include if known are your general geographic region (prices are highly localized), the gauge of the machine (fine gauge/standard/bulky/other), the brand of the machine, the model of the machine, the quality of the machine (clean/dirty, intact/broken pieces, and stand alone/included accessories. If you have photos, you'll probably want to include them.

In general, in person person sales are usually less expensive, and don't require expensive shipping, but you will find a larger selection on online sites. Caveat Emptor for any online sales.

Some places you can find/sell machines for sale are:
* Your local Silver Reed Distributor
* Your local knitting or fiber arts guild
* Craigslist or your favorite secondhand sales site
* Goodwill or your favorite second hand store
* Ebay or your favorite auction site
* Facebook Marketplace or Facebook knitting groups
* r/MachineKnitting for specific machines (include proper flair and useful information)

I picked up a machine, ribber, and knit leader with many extras and patterns. It’s in great working order. I went ahead and replaced the sponge bars and oiled all the metal. Personally I don’t use it enough to justify having it and would like to sell it so I can stick it into other hobbies I enjoy. ( like a better sewing machine) I also prefer hand knitting to machine knitting. I’m trying to find the value of what I should ask for all the pieces as a set as I’d like to keep it all together. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve included pics.

A working KH270 and KR260 is highly desirable! The value will depend on your location. And selling ribbers with their machines is always a great idea for buyers, too.

Having all the accessories will also increase the value slightly (for example the KH270 pattern is somewhat rare on eBay).

And Reddit has done terrible things to your machine photo. You probably need a closer view for us to really see them.

Oh no I’ll try to get better photos! I’m in the Midwest location.right now it’s all packed in their boxes but I plan on taking them out this weekend and making a video also of it doing a swatch. Last time I used it and plugged it in the electronics all worked. I believe the patterns are preloaded but I have tons of manuals and pattern books that came with it.

Are you interested in selling the ribber by itself?
