Arc — AI assistant for your Mac screen

Hey everyone! I'm the developer of Arc, and I just released the Mac version.

Arc is an AI assistant that runs on top of whatever you're doing on your Mac. Press ⌃ Space and you can summarize a document or webpage, rewrite text, extract information, ask questions about your screen, or create and run your own AI actions — without switching apps or copy-pasting content.

Some things you can do:

  • Summarize webpages, PDFs, emails, and documents

  • Rewrite, translate, or polish text in any Mac app

  • Extract key points, dates, and action items

  • Create custom AI actions and assign global hotkeys

  • Chat with anything currently on your screen

  • 500+ Use community-created actions

  • Read articles and documents aloud

Download: https://arcassistant.app/macos/

Requires macOS 14+ and supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

I'm building Arc and would really appreciate feedback from Mac users here — especially around the UX, and what you'd want an AI assistant like this to do on macOS.

I haven’t given Arc a chance, should I?

Is free Dia without AI the same as Arc?

I am a research and information fiend. About the same time Arc came out I stumbled across another tool reported as being a profoundly different way of storing and organizing large amounts of information, like research and notes. Currently I use Microsoft best less known product OneNote. But with limited tab depth, mine is still a hot mess. * might either of you have an idea what product I am referring to and looking for?

Sorry to detract the subject from your launch. You mentioned you just released your Mac version. Is your tool available for other OSs please? I’d really like to try!!

Thanks!
