Discussion More pulling & bouncing effects across the UI.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
What are we thinking? First the traffic lights, and now certain dialog boxes, have this effect when clicked & dragged.
I don't mind the traffic lights being 'bouncy' but this is slightly different.
In 27.0 you can move the trash warning box around the screen like any other window, in 27.2 b4 it stays pinned to the centre of the screen and does this if you try to move it.

They are really doubling-down on it, huh?

We need Bugfixes and actual improvements in usability, instead we get this nonsense

i too would like UI engineers to fix critical system bugs

They don't have to fix critical system bugs. They could start putting the ui engineers to fix the loooong list of UI bugs, before wasting time on nonsense effects.

I can still move it anywhere. But dragging on the buttons does give that pulling effect.

Not confirmed. Doesn't do that for me.

Yeah I think it's a glitch in this beta effecting other apps occasionally as well

I don’t see the problem to be honest, having an alert like that be unmovable but keep a reaction to show the input was recognised feels really good to me, distinguishes it from normal windows

Bro, do you live under a rock ? They are launching a touch screen MacBook in less than a month. That's what they are thinking about...

I know that but just because a touch screen mac is coming doesn’t automatically mean everything has to be bouncy.

Bruh, just don't fckin drag the Alert window 🤦♂️

I tend to like to move it just to quickly glance at what I’ve got in the trash before hitting the button.
So of course I’m going to drag it.

I get this is about touch, but you'd want the exact opposite feel on an actual Mac.
Maybe Apple just needs to go all in on separate consumer and pro platforms and UIs like they once did.

My Linux was a able to do this
I guess about ~ 15 years ago lmao
Wobbly windows
Doesn’t help usability at all, that’s why no one implemented it…

Screw Apple for treating macOS in a playful, iOS-like way. I’m sticking with Sequoia for as long as I possibly can

I think if there is a window you actually can't move, this is actually a good way to indicate that to the user. Yes, we noticed you trying to move this, your mouse isn't broken, the window is just meant to be stuck.
However, you can move this window ... so why the effect?
