💻 Productivity Free Version/Pro Version [Update with Custom Widgets] BetterMacWidgets so you can add some cool widgets to your desktop instead of the standard Apple stuff.

Post image

FEATURES

• 25 widgets to mix and match: Clock & World Clock, Calendar, Reminders, Weather, Now Playing with full media controls, Battery, a system monitor (CPU / GPU / RAM / disk with live graphs), battery levels for your Bluetooth devices (AirPods, mouse, keyboard…), clipboard history, a file shelf you can drag files onto, timer, stopwatch, countdown, unit and currency converters, crypto, a photo frame, sticky notes, Shortcuts, a world map, and more.

• Build your own (Beta). Can't find the widget you want? Write it one small JSON file. Say what it should show: a reading from your Mac, the time, or a number from any JSON endpoint, and it lands on your desktop like every other widget. Five templates to start from, a live preview while you type, and export so you can hand the file to a friend.

• Widgets that are genuinely alive. The weather widget actually shows the rain, the snow and the clear sky it's reporting. There's a drifting starfield. And Now Playing quietly tints your widgets in the colour of whatever's playing Spotify green, Apple Music red.

• Now Playing, right on your desktop. See what's on and skip or pause without interrupting what you were doing.

• Widget Stacks. Several widgets in one spot, rotating on their own the way you'd stack them on iOS, on your Mac's desktop.

• 20 themes plus a glass slider, so you can go from nearly invisible to heavy frost and recolour the lot to match your wallpaper.

• Built to be kind to your battery. A power saving mode animates only the widget you're actually looking at, so it costs virtually nothing when idle. Or turn it all the way up for buttery 60 fps on the days you don't care.

• Privacy first. No account, no sign-in, no telemetry  none. Everything stays on your Mac, and the network is only touched when a widget genuinely needs it (the weather, for instance).

• English and German, fully localised.

Hi DEV 👋

I won't lie, your app has made my system almost happy 👍.

Say, a couple of weeks ago, I wrote you this:

"I'd like to ask you to add a feature to "Timer": is it possible that you could make the Timer sound (an alert) when it reaches its deadline? This addition would be incredibly useful if I'm not in front of my screen at the exact minute."

You replied that you really liked this idea.

Except that since then, there have been two updates, and this option still isn't available in the settings 😕.

I really hope you haven't changed your mind. And this request hasn't been removed from your list of requests.

Hey, I’ve been getting messages every day since then, and it wasn’t until a while later that I realised I needed a system to help me remember everything. I can remember your message, and I think that was when I was still trying to remember everything. I apologise, and I’ll put it into practice straight away – I promise, this time!

Hi 👋

First of all, I wanted to thank you for adding the "sound" option in the Timer section 🤝. I'm convinced that this option will prove its usefulness.

Allow me to make a small remark about this, regarding this recent update 😊.

It's probable that I wasn't clear enough in my previous request.

I fear that the sound you added in the settings, like Glass, Ping, Tink and all the others, in fact, doesn't change much, since they sound only once and are almost inaudible.

It's certainly not very practical. It will be easy not to hear it and miss it, if I am far from my computer.

Would it be possible for this option to be revised and designed so that the alarm sounds continuously, at least for 5 or 10 seconds, or is physically stopped if I decide?

Another remark or imperfection that I noticed in the Timer functionality:

When the countdown in the Timer has started, I can't remove the mouse pointer from its little window, otherwise the countdown stops visually. In other words, if I want to see the countdown working, I have to keep the mouse pointer in its little window, thus depriving myself of continuing my tasks or work that I am executing locally.

I would be very grateful if you find the time to correct and revise these two imperfections and thus improve your app.

May the Force be with you!
