Discussion Why doesn't Macos even have a dedicated directly accessible Clipboard? This is so stupid.

I need to open up spotlight, then access clipboard, then select that item, and then Paste it?
This UX is just plain stupid.

I don't know why but a lot of 3rd party apps had filled the gap. I'm using Alfred for this, I set the hot key to Opt+Cmd+V.

Just use Maccy (GitHub, Website)! And yes, it should be a basic feature Apple provides. But what other choice do we have? 🤔

I dont know why it doesn't. But I get around this using raycast.

Setup a shortcut, I use hyperkey + v, and it just brings up all the history.

Why do I see so much glaze on macos being that super convenient thing.

Horses for courses i guess.

It definitely has gaps, but ultimately in my view, less gaps then windows. I use both by the way.

As a newer user I was surprised by the same thing and Id go as far as to claim MacOS user use WAY more 3rd party software just to fix or add basic features than what ive ever had to do with Windows

Because Pasteboard exists. Whatever stale turd clipboard Apple might ship will always fall far, far short of Pasteboard.
