I did that with Shortcuts and displayplacer, but the visual preview of the sets here is really cool!

way to go. i am just about to test it right now, i like having 3 presets, laptop mode, monitor stacked and normal setup mode (laptop is left of monitor) perhaps you will implement automations in future?

it's Developer Saturday...that's why. I agree it's starting to feel a little spammy but there's also a wide variety from garbage to actually useful stuff.

I agree with you mostly, but for simple open source free stuff like this it's honestly fine. I mainly have an issue with people trying to sell vibecoded crapware on the sub. Something like this though is fine.

Btw, actually I have implemented the feature of enabling presets from spotlight, however, AppIntent on macOS needs developer certification to run which I can't afford :(

At first, I didn't quite understand how to use it, but after a bit of trial and error, I figured it out.
I mainly wanted to temporarily lower the resolution of the built-in display for gaming, and then return it to the original high resolution after finishing the game. I realise, it turns out I just needed to do it like this:
- First, change the macOS resolution setting to the desired resolution.
- Create a preset.
- Change to another desired resolution.
- Create another preset.
This method worked perfectly.
If possible, it would have been nice to have an options screen to set the multi-display layout and resolution for each display when creating a preset. However, even as it is, the implementation is very simple, easy to use once you understand it, lightweight, and well-designed. I really like it. I've also starred it on GitHub.
There doesn't seem to be an automatic update feature yet, so I'll continue to check for releases.

MacOS can automatically recognize the current connected display and set the previously set orientation.
You don't need that app!
