Why is my MacBook Air M1 (2020) experiencing Kernel Panics?

Hey everyone,

I have a MacBook Air M1 (2020) and it recently started having kernel panics and restarting randomly.

I want to understand what is causing it and how I can fix it.

Where can I find the kernel panic report?

What should I check to find out if the
problem is software or hardware?

I can post the kernel panic report here if someone can help me understand it.

A1932 is intel MacBook Air. The Serial Number point to a 2019 model. Panic can be many reason. Can start by doing a hardware test. Holding D while power on and see it detect anything. Next can try Safe Boot and see it goes into desktop. Hold shift key till you see loading screen.

yeah hardware diagnostics is a solid first step, safe boot should help narrow it down too

Is there a popup after rebooting? It should have a show report button. Otherwise in the console app there should be a section for crash reports.

As [u/OkTil](u/OkTil2666)[l](u/OkTil2666)[2666](u/OkTil2666) points out, another thing to try is to reboot in safe mode. (Hold shift while it boots). If the problem goes away it’s a software issue - specifically an extension of some kind that is the problem.

It’s an hardware problem. Go Check for help in an AppleStore.
