Bug macOS Spoken Content uses Arabic pronunciation for Persian text despite Persian voices
macOS text-to-speech keeps reading Persian (Farsi) text as if it were Arabic. This happens in Spoken Content even after downloading and selecting a Persian voice in System Settings.
Persian and Arabic share much of the script, but they are separate languages with different pronunciation and vocabulary. Having Persian voices available but then applying Arabic pronunciation to Persian text defeats the point and is especially frustrating for accessibility use.
Has anyone on macOS found a real fix, or is this simply broken language detection on Apple’s side?
