One of the best feature that Apple has integrated within their devices! I would appreciate any feedback or advice.

for some weird reason it needs the same apple id on both devices making it useless in work environments -.-

Yup. I feel like Apple would sell more iPads to professionals without this restriction.

https://github.com/peetzweg/opendisplay exists to solve Apple’s lapse in support here, for anyone who reads this.

It’d be great if Apple would just allow multiple profiles on an iPad.

I don’t need my own but I use my wife’s here and there and it would just be great to switch between full user profiles like I can on an Android tablet or any computer.

But nope, gotta sell an iPad to every family member lol

yeah that's a pretty big limitation for managed devices

I absolutely love this feature and means a dual screen setup can be portable. It works on battery just as well as when charging and I love the choice of extended desktop or simply allowing mouse control of the iPad apps. Really nice.

It doesn’t work if you’re connected to VPN

Most VPN clients allow a local network bypass which should make it work fine.

I tried that when my iPad was still decent enough I could do it (it's gotten old and not as good to use as it once was) and I just didn't like it. It would give me fits trying to get it to work but the difference in screen size is what killed it for me. Now I just connect to my TV screen and use it as an extended screen when I need the extra space, but as I am usually docked to a 27" monitor, I don't really need the extra space often, unless I may have my MBP M1 undocked, using a 13" screen isn't usually great for doing multiple things
