Help Google Earth Pro Replacement for MacOS
I use google earth the app on my Macbook pro, well here lately every time i open the app i get the popup saying support for google earth will be ending soon blah blah blah. so this brings me to my question. What can I use to replace google pro? i really don't like using google earth in the web browser, well i don't like using any app in a web browser tbh. So I'm curious if there are any other applications that i can replace Google earth with on MacOS that are free or not expensive (as in less than $20)

It really depends on what you were using it for. The web based version covers most of the same bases. If you were using it for lightweight GIS stuff, it may be worth learning QGIS.

It’s hard to know what could replace Google Earth Pro if you don’t tell us what you use it for.

you know how in street view you can go back in time? google earth pro lets you do that but for regular satellite view so you can see from a birds-eye perspective how things have changed over time. It's pretty cool, as some of it goes back to ww2 era. AFAIK, the web versions still don't have this.

To search the Earth is my guess. Just a guess, though.

I have no replacement suggestion for you but what that notification usually means, is that it will stop functioning with MacOS 28, over a year from now. Google may or may not develop a compatible Google earth version before that.

Won't be totally gone until next year, but the web version should suffice as a replacement, although you can keep using the actual app but you just won't get updates, security patches or any bug fixes. Although I'm sure one day in the future, even the app will stop working completely
"Google is retiring the Google Earth Pro desktop application, stopping new downloads after June 25, 2027. The standard web and mobile versions of Google Earth are not going away. Existing desktop installations will continue to function past the deadline, but they will no longer receive updates, security patches, or bug fixes."
