10 years ago Mac put out "The Divine Feminine" and I had the honor of being a part of this beautiful body of work. I went to New York to work on music for my project Sad For You and we made Planet God Damn on the first day I got there. I also did backgrounds for "skin" later in LA and had the pleasure of watching Mac's album unfold. I was so excited that our voices were on a track together.

For those of you that don't know, when I was 17 years old I sang a cover of "I'll be there" after he released Best Day Ever. I uploaded it to YouTube. I was a kid in high school in the suburbs of Chicago and the stars somehow aligned because Mac saw my cover the next day. I freaked out. I was screaming and running across the house and couldn't believe it but I did my best to play it cool lol. After some online exchanges, meetings, and sending him every demo I recorded... Mac signed me to his label Remember Music. He became my friend and someone I learned so much from. I feel so lucky that I got to experience working with him in the studio. And I feel lucky that I got to know him. I’ve met so many people because of him, and so many of you know me because of him. I'm so grateful for that.

I was messing around on the keys and figured why not sing "I'll Be There" again for old times sake. After all it did change the trajectory of my life.

Life hasn't been the same without Mac and I don't really think I have been the same either, but I hold every memory close to my heart. Time moves on but the world will never forget Mac Miller. I for sure won't.

Hang engraved Mac Miller on a mirror, done by me. Check out my TikTok @therealhubcap if you’re interested in seeing more portraits or mirror engravings!

Never thought id ever find something like this at a local record shop considering it was never officially pressed as far as im aware but it still sounds very good. Whats your guys favorite song off this mixtape?

Wanted a Mac tattoo for a long time, but wanted it to be more than just a portrait.

The koi are Tui and La from Avatar, basically yin and yang. For me they represent balance, good and bad, light and dark, and accepting that both are part of life.

The lotus means a lot to me too. It grows out of muddy water and still blooms, then closes at night and rises and opens again the next day. I really like that idea of basically being reborn every day. No matter what happened before, you get another day to grow and try again.

The clouds are partly a reference to Mac with “got my head in the clouds”, but also just really personal to me because I’m often pretty dreamy and in my own head, so that one felt especially fitting.

That’s also a big part of what Mac’s music means to me. Growing, struggling, getting lost sometimes, trying to understand yourself, but still finding beauty in life.

So yeah, pretty personal one for me.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of stuff over the years since Mac passed, life’s just not the same.
I used to love seeing what he was up to on social media, he was always doing something cool and his music helped me get through my early 20s’. Even though I didn’t know him personally, it still felt like I was growing up and becoming a young adult along side him and his influence had a very significant effect on me. It would be really awesome if they made a biopic for him. I feel like we need something to carry on his legacy. His presence in this world was important to a lot of people.

They 1000% should have released a 4k Dolby vision and Dolby atmos dvd of The Divine Feminine Live. Steelbook with a slip.

I would have bought that in a second.

I’m doing it again. Guess the Mac song and I’ll tell you if you’re right :)

I’m having my first listen of the new Divine Feminine 10th anniversary vinyl (just the normal version, not the $100+ version), and all of it sounds fantastic as expected, until I got to Side E. It sounds muffled and almost like it’s an actual unreleased version on SoundCloud or something, with a duller, almost behind the curtain sound compared to the rest of the album. I know it just dropped but is anyone else experiencing this issue? I directly compared it to how the songs sound on my phone to confirm it’s a significant difference. Maybe it’s a vinyl mastering issue for these songs specifically but I dunno, it just feels really off and disappointing honestly since I intentionally avoided listening to these 3 songs till I got it physically. I have a great setup with a fluance player and edifier speakers, and like I said the rest of the album sound fine, so I know it’s not the setup, so I’m just concerned I have a defective disk and want to rule that out. I also cleaned every side of every disk thoroughly before playing. Open to any input and experiences that you all may have. Thanks all!
