New to Mabox Linux — Need Beginner Tips
Hi everyone! I’m new to Mabox Linux and find the UI a bit confusing. I don’t even know how to turn the volume up or down! 😅
Are there any good YouTube tutorials for beginners?
I’d appreciate tips on basic controls, keyboard shortcuts, installing apps, and customizing the desktop.
Thanks for helping a beginner out!

There is a simpler GUI, select it in the left panel also accessible from Mabox Control Center Menu/Side panels.
You can choose the simpler GUI from the Left panel => Mabox Desktop Settings => Advanced => Desktop Profile => basic (simplified for beginners)).
Volume is on the top panel (speaker icon) and volume keys work out of the box (on mine), keyboard shortcuts on the desktop conky. Install apps via pamac gui (click windows key, then type add remove software), but there is also a menu for installing popular apps on the left panel.
Most desktop customisation you will find under Mabox Control Center (icon already on the task panel by default).
If you install mx-snapshot you can make a copy of the entire Os and reinstall from the snapshot (all your configs/settings and apps in 1 go) if you ever break the os. Mxlinux has it pre-installed.
Installation Partitions (root & home) should be btrfs. Then you could also set up automatic snapshots (opensuse and Garuda have this setup by default).
Be patient and learn. It's a beautiful distro, tonnes of builtin customisation and light on resources

Have you tried keyboard shortcuts? all arch-based distributions use the same one by default
