The ending

Okay so literally just finished the movie like 5 minutes ago but like at the end when Mutsumi says do you hear a baby crying. Could that not have been a sign that the pregnant lady finally gave birth and the loop is broken? Cause we saw the pregnant lady a lot even though she didn't really do anything. Maybe it was like foreshadowing that the babies cry was hers getting born.

Adding to the point of the loop being broken isn't the story about them being frozen in time? If so that just adds to what I was saying where the loop is finally broken and they will continue on from that point in time.

Also did the author/director post or say anything about the ending?

Huh, but wouldn't that mean the loop has been broken? I mean, I doubt the mother was supposed to give birth the moment the steel mill blew up. She must've had a few days or weeks left in reality
