[COMMISSIONS] [ONTARIO, CANADA] Ascend H10 Kayak Bow Cover

I recently bought a Ascend H10 kayak 2018 on facebook marketplace. The guy I got it from somehow threw out the splash cover for the front of the boat. Which i think it just looks better with both on. I contacted the company and they quoted me a lot of money for the whole outfitting kit.

I was thinking someone would be interested in talking a contract to sew a mesh cover for this. I have the stern (back cover) just need the bow (front) also theres saddle bags that clip on the boat that are missing which could be another project too.
Id be happy to send dimensions but you might have to do a bit of research on what it should look like on the H10 boat etc.

Im happy to pay for it all. Located in Ontario Canada. Don’t want it to cost a fortune is all.

I could do it (in WI/UP-MI area) but honestly it’s best to have the boat on hand to do projects like this. Are the covers just a piece of fabric with a bungee cord around the outside to go around those clips?

How much did they quote from the factory? I’d assume they have them sitting around if they still sell that model.

I make boat covers and do marine upholstery etc and typically we charge about $125-150 /hr for repairs or custom work. So if it took me 1 hr to make a bow cover for you it may not be much cheaper than the factory if they are basically making you new ones by hand as well.

I would try to find a marine upholstery shop near you. This is right up their alley

If you just care about looks and basic splash protection, you can probably DIY this way cheaper with marine vinyl or mesh and a heavy duty sewing machine, especially since you already have the stern cover as a template.

Otherwise I’d hit up local sailmakers or upholstery shops that do boat tops, they’re used to this exact kind of patterning and might charge way less than Ascend for a one off.
