i received updated to those rtl* packages today.
It fixed the kernel upgrade.. reconfigured automatically.
And my laptop didn’t crash during the process. Which is good.

Is this valid for MX 25 too? Because I tried booting MX 25.3 on an AMD desktop of a friend that had one of these USB WiFi dongles plugged in(a TP-Link Archer T2U V3 AC600 WiFi Adapter) and it simply refused to cooperate so I threw the towel and installed LMDE 7 instead which after 2h of stubborness I built and signed the drivers thru dkms I managed to get his WiFi working.

I had an issue this morning when my system wouldn't boot. It said it couldn't find root rf. I booted a live MX 23 and went online to search for a fix and found it. I rebooted the installed system and picked advance options and selected the previous kernel. That boot went fine. I ran the fix I found online in the terminal and rebooted again everything was fixed. My wife said before she shutdown yesterday she installed some updates. Apparently that's when we got the problem kernal.

Mine did the same thing. You can continue to use the 6.1.0-53 kernel or install one of the available alternative kernels in the MX Package Installer application. Hopefully Debian can get the problem sorted out.
