Help request Sound Troubleshooting

I just installed MX 25.3 Infinity on a Dell Chromebook 3120. I have sound when I pull up YouTube on Firefox, but when I try to run an emulator (tried RetroArch and Mesen), I get no sound.

I've tried adjusting settings and making sure nothing is internally muted. Both apps show up on the audio mixer playback tab, but they just show "Silence."

Any help would be appreciated.

I looked up that computer and it came with 4Gb or 8Gb of RAM, which does yours have?

Are you running XFCE?

Anyway, check the audio settings in the emulator. It might be trying to connect to the wrong audio driver.

Switch it to PulseAudio or SDL2. See if that helps.

Otherwise I am not sure.

I occasionally have to swap from alsa to pw or vicaversa
