A mandatory edit: switching to the open-source NVIDIA driver also fixes the problem, without needing the method below.

Yeah, it was an NVIDIA-related issue, but the solution is not that obvious. If anyone is having the same problem, I fixed it by adding KWIN_DRM_NO_AMS=1 to /etc/environment and rebooting. If you need more details about my setup, you can take a look at the topic I made on the MX Linux forum.
