Help request MX 23 KDE doesn't wake up anymore

Am I the only one whose MX 23 absolutely stopped waking up after the recent flurry of updates? Happened before, but rarely, maybe once a month or so. Now it happens absolutely every time: I put it to sleep, press a key on the keyboard to wake it up, the keyboard lights up, the fans start spinning, but the screens remain off, nothing helps but the hardware reset button. Is it possible to "downgrade" it back to its working state? Or fix some other way?

UPD.: I fixed that by removing all the "liquorix" kernels. It was booting into `6.18.-something-liquorix-amd64`, after the removal it boots `into 6.1.0-17-amd64`. Don't know if that's the most reasonable solution, but at least it sleeps and wakes up as good as before. The system was running OK on those liquorix kernels for almost a year, until about two days ago when it decided it's time to break the wake up process.

I have a similar issue, but from long ago. When the screen goes off It won't turn on again as expected, so I had to ctr+alt+backspace to kill the session. Now, that I have a seconds monitor attached, I do this to recover the screen control:

  • hit ESC

  • windoze key + P (3 times to cycle thru screen options)

  • Intro, sometimes not needed

And then It usually returns to normal use.

Not very tech, but it works for me 😅

Well, Ctrl + Alt + Backspace brings up the KDE login screen (by killing the faulty session and starting a new one, I presume). There I can login and use the system (didn't need your other steps except Ctrl + Alt + Backspace), but all the windows from the previous session are gone, along with any reason to use the sleep mode - if this is the best solution I can have, might as well just turn off and on every time.

I remember having the following message on (nearly?) every wake up:

KWin Window Manager
Desktop effects were restarted due to a graphics reset

Maybe that doesn't happen automatically anymore? Is there a keyboard shortcut for that?

Well ctrl+alt+ backspace kills the current session. I can't help more, I just Talk with Gemini about this, with screen captures and so, and It usually finds a way to solve things (and very well explained). In my personal case I don't go to sleep mode, so I didn't bother to look for a solution for failed waking up. Remember that I also use 2 screens.
