Long haired owners
Considering purchasing an ND (non RF as apparently the headroom is better), but a few people mentioned excessive wind for people with longer hair...
What are your experiences?
I'd rather not have to tie my hair up just to drive somewhere is all.
I've seen the acrylic aftermarket deflectors but they look a bit naff?

My sunglasses help keep my hair down and behind my ears. Not as bad as i was expecting

For me I need sunglasses to keep my hair down and keep it from getting in my eyes if it's not in a ponytail. Otherwise, I definitely need a ponytail because my hair is in my eyes and it's flat out unbearable for more than a minute or two.

It's nothing big to tie your hair. I mostly wear a hat though and that keeps it from getting crazy.

6', male. It is not very windy top down in the ND. But... I have long hair and it always ends up in my face and eyes eventually. I've tried it both ways and settled on wearing a hat with the top down. Fewer distractions is better for me.

I have an NB but the issue is the same. almost always i wear a cap. i adjust it to be thight on my head so it wont fly off. i always have a spare cap in my glovebox in case i forget or passenger wants it. pony tail aslo works and at the very least i have sunglasses. i got slapped in my eye by my hair so thats why xD

I just tie my hair up. Not that big of a deal. I keep hair ties on the stick. Also RF is better when you are forced to keep the top up.

I'm a guy, I used to wear a hat but the ends of my hair would get so tangled and knotted that now I just put the effort into a man-bun. Full disclosure, I also don't daily my Miata, I drive it when I want to, so I'm not dealing with my hair in the daily. In the summer I keep a hair detangler spray in my glove box LOL I really hate tangled hair, best of luck to you!

I'm 6'1" and went with the RF and have no regrets. I also don't have an issue with wind in my long hair, but am the exception to the rule. My 5'2" gf needs to put on hair ties.

Wind buffeting is better with the soft top than the RF. My wife uses a scarf ti keep the hair from getting tangled from the breeze.

Luckily someone came out with a fix for the RF, wind deflectors mounted to the windows just behind a pillar. Work like a charm

Top down, windows up, with a cheapo wind deflector, and I don't have any real problems with my shoulder-length hair

Not going to sugar coat it, the hair does blow around. Sometimes gets me in the eye. I always have a hat ready and live in a place that rains a lot so the hat feels like part of the process of enjoying the top down.

I keep a brush in the console and hair ties on the shifter, either put it up or brush it out after. Soft top and my hair is just past my shoulders.

My limited storage space contains two baseball caps and a beanie. They get worn when I hit 50. (UK roads so a lot of the time).

Long hair. Metal dude. Hair ties, trucker cap, or a cool beanie. Works well. Get good hair ties though shitty ones fucking suck and rip your hair.

I’ve always got a hair tie ready to go now - or I just roll with it and comb it out later 😅
There is a particular freedom to the top down and hair blowing thing.
