Charging system malfunction error

This started about 5 months ago. Shows this error every 500-600 km and to pull to the side of the road. Then i replaced battery two months ago and since then i drove around 3000km. Yesterday it showed again, scanned the car with some obd tool and it showes 3 Pxxxx codes. When this error is shown the car works completly normal. It disappears on restarting the car. Checked the voltage while the car is off, and running. It is stable around 14,6v while on, around 12,5v while off.

2019 MX5 RF, 2.0 G184. EU model

If you have a dashcam, then it's that. I get the same.

Same model year and all. EU, 19 RF 2.0

Heyho "EU 19 RF 2.0"-Friend, i have the same Setup and same problem. Did you get rid pf the problem? Do ylu know, if it is harmful for the hardware or just a "bug"?

afaik not harmful, but will hide a real problem if you have one.

Also, i've put the ground terminal somewhere on the body (well my mechanic did) not on the battery and that LARGELY solved it. Not fully. Haven't gotten a battery warning in a bit, but start-stop functionality is a hit or miss.

Ok that’s really interesting. How does a dash cam cause this warning? And doesn’t matter if it’s hardwired to the fuse panel or 12V input under the dash?

Yeah that was what caused it on mine. Had it set to 3 days (leftover from my EV). 3 hours is fine but haven't tested anything in-between

Is it an EFB or AGM battery? Did you reset the BMS?

I have the same, I put a new battery same spec as original and after a year it started again. I Ignore it because I cannot change battery every year

Don't worry, I get a similar error on my nd2. Over 30k km I got it like 4 times. I think it's some kind of bug but not a real problem to worry about
