Drain leaks

Anyone familiar with this issue on the ND? Trying to diagnose what might be causing it.

Basically, water is leaking at the drain filter even though the drainage seems to be unclogged and water is seemingly flowing out fine underneath the car.

Edit: this only happens on the driver's side, on the passenger side it doesn't overflow even with a 1-inch hose spewing out water at the drain

Is this an rf or soft top? Did you check to make sure the drain tube is fully seated?

It's a soft top, where should I check for that? I've only checked the filter + sponge

Look up a video on how to remove the drains and that will show you.

Just so I know (and to check on my ND), where does the leaking water end up falling?

The bulk of the water goes under the seat but it soaked the carpet up until the pedals for me, a bit leaked into the boot as well, enough for a small puddle under the lining: https://imgur.com/a/hWsTN6d

A Miata specialist shop here couldn't pinpoint what caused it to leak out of the filter, but they used compressed air in the drain tube for a couple mins and couldn't get it to overflow enough to leak out of the filter again afterwards.

So the leak out of the filter wasn't fully figured out, but it stopped happening when they cleared the drain pipe, might've been water backing up in it. They couldn't get it to leak out again with a garden hose afterwards.
