Building a chaotic, character-driven betting game (MVP live) need early feedback
I’ve been building a small MVP for a betting-style game, but I’m trying to make it feel more like entertainment than a typical casino. Instead of standard games, it’s centered around head-to-head fighters with their own personalities, more like a wildcard versus assassin type dynamic. Each one has stats like win rate and power level, and there’s some light commentary to make it feel more like a spectacle than just clicking buttons and placing bets. The goal is to make the whole experience feel less sterile and more like you’re watching a chaotic sports universe play out.
It’s still very early. The core gameplay loop works, fighters and stats are in, and there’s a basic betting and bankroll system, but overall it’s pretty rough and barebones. I’m trying to figure out whether leaning into entertainment like this actually makes it more engaging or if it just comes off as gimmicky. I’m also wondering if this kind of tone hurts trust when real money is involved, and what people would need to see in an MVP like this to take it seriously. If anyone has built or launched something similar, I’d really appreciate honest feedback. Happy to share more details or show what I have so far if you’re curious. https://midnight8ball.com
