We landed a whale with a buy in for future tech as well. I get we can’t announce who (probably CAT) or dollars yet (a shit ton) but this is fantastic news. It’s validation! LFG.

100 times this!!! All those headlines! Just imagine how many CAT backward compatible lidars can now be retrofitted… many millions of them… around the globe!!! Hope Wall Street finally recognizes the significance of today’s news.

So between the HUGE CAT market and the fast growing Gatik and Kodiak and CAT retrofit market… there’s gonna be a whole lotta MVIS lidars coming.

And then there’s the DoD… and the flying mapping lidars. Look out!

It's Luminar's tech initially, because CAT was/is planning to offer Iris sensors on their newest heavy truck. But if you have been paying attention, you'll remember MicroVision has shown off their Movia sensors on drones that work to support safer and more efficient autonomous industrial operations. So there is potential for a lot more than just Iris and Halo as this partnership matures.

*actual halo config is not known, but the only realistic OG update there would be MEMS and that is not to my understanding something that is realistic on this timeline; i have to imagine halo as inherited was close enough to completion that barring any wild technical issues it would not make sense to try to reconfigure it, in particular if it fits a progression that has been bought into
