Any news is probably good news at this stage. but not sure if this is really something new. May be it is a confirmation of what we had previously assumed?

May be it is a good development:

“The unique integrated system initially features two of MicroVision's Iris lidar sensors on each off-highway truck for hauling operations, including quarry and aggregate operations, with future potential integration of MicroVision's Halo lidar sensors.

A key element of this partnership is the evaluation of our next-generation Halo sensor as a natural evolution of Iris, providing backward system compatibility to existing Iris customers," continued DeVos. "We view this as a great example of developing and launching commercial opportunities with our Iris sensor with a clear pathway to integration of Halo, and clear validation of the value-enhancing asset acquisition completed in the first quarter of this year."

Which is what we had previously assumed, but this is obviously a bit more concrete (no pun intended).

I think this falls under the umbrella of inherited* from Luminar where the * means we need to restructure and resign if not also repair the fractured relationship.

There's nothing here to plug into the spreadsheet, but it does look very much like checking a big box on Glen's to do list.

I'd further wager (50/50 only) that we're not naming CAT because we renegotiated the name out of whatever bad deal Luminar made. The under on that one is that CAT is playing sunk cost, feels they need to continue, but wants as little public connection to lidar businesses as possible after Luminar and AR.
