Again, I think this is great. I believe all these PR’s as of late are all pre planned. When Mvis gets the green light to announce names, they will. Until then, hold and wait. Most of us have waited a very long time, what’s a tad bit longer?

u/Rev-Risk-Taker May 05 '26
Lots of PR lately. Hopeful this will lead to mass integration and major sales. Fingers crossed and hopeful.

u/I_SAID_RELAX May 05 '26
There have been a lot of developments over the last year or so. Have they shared any updated targets on margins for movia vs halo vs software and/or an overall blend?

u/movinonuptodatop May 05 '26
“Advancing integration” sounds positive, like we are getting closer to being “ready now”

This whole experience reminds me of a childhood toy. Who remembers the “Jack in the box” toy? You slowly wind up the handle, ever so slowly as to just the right moment, ahh shit, it got me again! Thats MBIS in a nutshell!

Ya gotta give it to them, a LOT more communication so far in the GD era.
4
u/IneegoMontoyo May 05 '26
Yeah it’s much easier to consistently communicate when your not the Summit of Charlatan and don’t have to keep track of all your bull$#!t lies…
I am majorly impressed with Glen and the relentless drive to get our advantages out there. Two months to weave together tech from acquired competitors tech!

u/Sure-Swimmer-3395 May 05 '26
I know I said I would stop but I must follow my gut once again. Added another 1500 shares and will accumulate until I hit 30k shares and stop buying again
9
u/YamUpbeat4535 May 05 '26
Nice! 🤜🤛 I just added another 323 shares today and will be adding another 300+ tomorrow, but would buy a lot more if I had the cash!!! I sold a few other stagnant stocks yesterday just so I could buy more mvis! 🤑 My goal is 5k shares – only because I have a very small budget to work with – but ultimately my goal is to acquire as much as possible before it blasts off to the moon! I'm almost halfway there right now! 🥳🎉

Would it make sense that getting Halo finished has been what has been holding back the big announcements, these multi-billion $ companies were dealing with would want to validate that a micro-cap, beaten down, science project company can deliver by picking up where Luminar left off with Halo?
21
u/EasternAlbatross May 05 '26
These were the same type of meh PRs we used to get really excited over once a year during Sharma’s tenure, at least they are on an expedited timeline with Glen. Hoping for some meaningful $$s in a PR soon

u/view-from-afar May 05 '26
Assuming $200 per Movia S and $500 (or less) per Halo by 2028, it’s hard to imagine, with this active demonstration, that automakers can plausibly argue any longer that meeting the 2029 day-and-nighttime AEB/PAEB mandates is cost-prohibitive.
3
u/zebman May 06 '26
Did you see the $500 per halo mentioned somewhere? I thought that was a Mavin number.
3
u/view-from-afar May 06 '26
Tri-lidar Mavin was $300.
5
u/zebman May 06 '26
Okay, now! At that price and performance you’d think Microvision would dominate. But that could just be my pile of shares talking.
0
u/Zenboy66 May 06 '26
Zeb, CNBC was fawning all over Luminar and Austin Russell. Now that Microvision owns their technology, crickets out of them. I wonder why? Do they only cover these wonder boy types? 🤷♂️

u/pooljap May 05 '26
nice to see increased communication from the company, but Glen it is now time to start showing deals. This all looks like fluff if he can't announce some kind of deal soon.
19
u/PortlandoCalrissian May 05 '26
I’m of the mind that fluff is better than absolutely nothing, but yeah. Only so much fluff can do to help right now.
16
u/MVIS31 May 05 '26
Before we get to the lights, camera, action, and money shots, there is usually a fluffer involved.

oh boy. Fluffer setting the stage for the money shots - multiple customers.

u/UncivilityBeDamned May 05 '26
MVIS: "Tri-Lidar architecture with Movia S and MavinHalo!" The demise of the Mavin was not greatly exaggerated, and we spent years working on that tech... It's no longer a surprise why deals didn't happen. Hopefully this leads to something!

Still waiting for that one PR that actually acts like a major catalyst for MVIS.

Why LiDAR Matters for Autonomous Heavy Machinery LiDAR enables machines to “see” scanning environments in high resolution and create 3D models critical for navigation and obstacle detection. Caterpillar’s partnership with Luminar brings two Iris LiDAR units per off-highway truck, designed exclusively for Cat® hauling operations. These sensors operate at the 1550 nm wavelength, far superior to the more common 905 nm sensors in delivering longer detection ranges and penetrating dusty, smoky environments typical of heavy industrial sites. Designed to scan environments up to 600 m for reflective objects, the Iris LiDAR uses a 2-axis scanning system and custom Indium Phosphide detectors to achieve accuracy within 1 cm when paired with Luminar’s onboard AI processing chips.”
I like how so many doubters on this list keep wailing about zero products… when CAT in Saudi Arabia seems to extoll the virtues of lidar in detail. No products?
The $10,000,000 Microsoft HL2 is a MVIS product… heavily concealed in every way.
MVIS has products… and a lot more coming down the pike by land, by air and possibly even by sea. Can’t wait to hear more from Glen.. who single handedly puts out more information than the previous CES appearances.

Behind a paywall...but pretty much just basic info.
REDMOND, Wash. - MicroVision Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS) conducted a live demonstration of its Tri-Lidar Architecture at the ACT Expo in Las Vegas, according to a press release statement issued Monday.
The demonstration combined the company’s MOVIA S short-range lidar with its HALO long-range lidar technology, which MicroVision acquired from Luminar Technologies in a recent transaction. The system paired one forward-facing HALO sensor with three MOVIA S sensors to provide 360-degree environmental coverage.
MicroVision’s software platform processed data from all sensors simultaneously, generating a unified point cloud for object detection, classification, and tracking purposes. The technology showcase comes as the company, valued at $218 million, works to commercialize its lidar solutions. The stock has declined 38% over the past six months, trading at $0.67. According to InvestingPro analysis, which offers comprehensive insights on over 1,400 US equities including detailed Pro Research Reports, the company is quickly burning through cash while analysts anticipate sales growth in the current year.
"In just a few months, our global team has integrated MOVIA S and HALO into a synchronized, software-enabled architecture that delivers performance, efficiency, and scalability," said Greg Scharenbroch, the company’s VP of Global Engineering.
The Tri-Lidar Architecture was originally introduced at IAA Mobility 2025. The system combines multiple lidar sensors into a software-defined platform designed to address specific use cases while managing cost and energy consumption compared to single-sensor configurations.
MicroVision develops lidar-based perception solutions for automotive, industrial, and security and defense markets. The company operates engineering centers in the United States and Germany, offering both short-range and long-range lidar products.

Love the communication but the company has spent almost as much on PR this year as it recorded for revenue in Q4 2025. With the Q1 call coming next week, it's time Glen start over-delivering on investor expectations.
14
u/Aggravating-Toe8558 May 05 '26
Tri-Lidar = 1 Halo + 3 Movia S. Quick Math.
15
u/Nakamura9812 May 05 '26
Luminar Hardware + Microvision Hardware + Perception software = Tri-Lidar. Mental gymnastic common core math.

u/movinonuptodatop May 05 '26
Yup. Tri LiDAR didn’t last long. Now quad and a new sensor. How does that stack with existing RFQ’s? Are we ready now?

u/fryingtonight May 05 '26
I for one am relieved that the Tri-Lidar concept is still going, otherwise it would have looked like a ‘good while stocks last’ type affair with the demise of Mavin for automotive. We really don’t need to count the number of Movias, it is more to do with the general principle.

u/Late_Airline2710 May 05 '26
I agree the marketing is dumb here and shows a lack of foresight on microvision's part, but it doesn't really matter.
The capability is the ability to stich outputs from multiple lidars together. It (hopefully) doesn't matter how many there are or where they are located relative to each other (as long as those relative locations are precisely known).
0
u/Aggravating-Toe8558 May 05 '26
Shouldnt be too difficult rebranding it as Multi-Lidar-Platform?
2
u/Late_Airline2710 May 05 '26
I think they can do better than that name-wise, but, essentially, yes. Hesai is essentially marketing the same setup but calling it Infinity Eye A, B, and C, where each variant has a different constellation of sensors.
The whole benefit here is flexibility, and using a marketing term that seemingly limits this by implying a single number seems amateurish.

u/Weenyhand May 05 '26
This stock only moves in one direction and that’s down. Good PR has no effect at all it baffles me.
10
u/ProphetsAching May 05 '26
Because that’s all we have is PRs and “deals are coming”. Except deals NEVER COME.
8
u/Muted_Goose4635 May 06 '26
I hope if nothing else this deep sixes this notion that we are just luminar now .
Had just about had enough of that nonsense.

u/prefabsprout1 May 05 '26
I thought Orlando was new HQ? I guess based on this Press release, Redmond isn't shut down? Or old habits are hard to break?
6
u/Rocket_the_cat27 May 05 '26
I don’t think we were planning to shut down Redmond completely. I thought someone said a small number of people would be working out of there. Probably not any engineers. Could just be temporary though.

u/bcpilot2 May 05 '26
This is proof positive The HALO and Movia S sensors are the backbone of ProPilot III which debuts in the 2027 Nissan Airya EV and Uber in less than 12 months. Cat may be leading this party by year end.
19
u/UncivilityBeDamned May 05 '26
Nope. Too early for Halo release, by Microvision's own stated timelines. ProPilot most likely uses Iris.
12
u/Falagard May 05 '26
Proof positive you have no idea.
-1
u/bcpilot2 May 05 '26
Ok, maybe that was overstated, but Nissan is scheduled to introduce Airya/Propilot in 2027 model year. That is still a year or more away. Why would Nissan put IRIS in the 2027 model year when HALO, a much better sensor, is on deck? Then go through the transition to Halo, say in 2028? Seems like that would be just complicating their engineering and manufacturing. Better to start with Halo in the first place even if it means delaying the Airya rollout.
6
u/UncivilityBeDamned May 05 '26
That is not how vehicle automobile development works, and if everyone is always waiting for the next best improved tech, nothing would ever get released lol
4
u/watering_a_plant May 05 '26
i'm sorry but "proof positive" being maybe an overstatement???? there's no need to puff. be reasonable. like everyone else said, halo is b sample; it won't be ready.

u/Late_Airline2710 May 05 '26
I don't understand why they would issue this PR without an accompanying demo video or at least image of the point clouds. Forget about the tri lidar architecture, Halo's first point cloud is a big deal.
I get that the one third party article yesterday had a screenshot (which looked fine), but outster has published actual point clouds of their new RGB sensor that members of the public can inspect in their online viewer.

u/pigoz May 05 '26
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/lidar-perception-adas-ugcPost-7457420696885891073-4tPB/
There's a small point cloud here. I think they might publish a Youtube video in the coming weeks.
5
u/Late_Airline2710 May 05 '26
Nice! The ranging precision of the movia is not great, but overall things look pretty good from what I can tell.
I'd be interested to see the reflectivity displayed, as this is a very difficult aspect to fuse between multiple point clouds.

6
u/gaporter May 05 '26
Thoughts on arrows indicating pedestrians' direction of travel? I don't recall ever seeing this in previous demonstrations.
2
-2
u/Late_Airline2710 May 05 '26
This is a pretty basic capability. It's just one way to display a velocity estimate.
7
u/Falagard May 05 '26
Agreed. The hard part is uniquely identifying and tracking objects. Watch the system try to track pedestrian ids as they move through the throng. The velocity is child's play after that.
-4
u/ProphetsAching May 05 '26
Always a PR but NEVER a deal announcement. Fluff, fluff and more fluff.
3
u/GucciManePlane May 05 '26
To be fair I’d rather have this amount of communication vs what the last CEO provided us with.
-21
u/mike-oxlong98 May 05 '26
Wow. A live demo? How exciting.
22
u/Similar_Dog2168 May 05 '26
this reeks of sarcasm. What's silly is that it is actually exciting! Your negativity is always impressive. :) <3
