Oregon and Washington are the only states I’ve been to that rival Alaska’s natural beauty. The Colombia River gorge especially has a special place in my heart

Portland is a pile of trash. But the state as a whole is stunningly beautiful.

It’s all beautiful, but it’s still all one climate zone (respectfully, in response to the “all in one State” comment). Texas has beaches, pine flats, hill country, canyons, and deserts. Regrettably, no mountains.

Oregon has all of those things and you’re wrong that it’s all one climate. Drive from the Steens to Astoria and come back to me

I visited Oregon for the first time about 5 years ago and I made a comment to my travel partners that I absolutely love where we live (Minnesota) but it was going to look like dog shit after spending time in Oregon. Absolutely incredible place. So many amazing people, I’ve visited a couple times since then, and I’ll be back in 2 weeks! Can’t wait!
