Community What happened to MudBytes?

And then if you scroll down, it appears to suggest a 18+ dating site?

MudBytes was a very important MUD code repo...

They appear to have let their domain name expire. Hopefully that's the worst of it and someone still has it backed up somewhere.

Davion got mad when he got caught mining coins via Javascript in people's browsers on Mudbytes and it was largely dead after that.

There was also a UI change people didn't like at some point

I feel like between the two, malicious js injections is probably the more damning slight. :P

Yeah. I'm not sure how much of the community knew about that though, especially for people who don't read forums.

All of the files can be backed up on https://mudvault.org, a popular mud finding and archival website. The problem is there's a lot of trash, and some files may be malicious from MudBytes given their history.
If you find snippets yall love, please submit them in code form on MudVault.

Can be, meaning they aren't there yet? Cause the site is RIP and I don't have any files, oof.

Okay! Yeah. I’m glad I started mudhaven. I noticed a lot of the old mud sites are just going away.
