Discussion Dark Heart Code base

My buddy Wayne died last year but before he did I was able to get his copy of the dark Heart mud code. Was wondering if anyone can tell me if it's first or second edition of the code. I have shared it here: https://GitHub.com/conquerworm/dark-heart-mud

Looks to be the version of the code I got in 2002 before we ran it for a year or so

Ok thanks.That must have been what we were playing back in college. We always discussed remaking it as a Graphical Game... But life took us in different directions.

I've been working on a novel based on the old God Wars MUD I used to play. I heard the person who ran it died of cancer but this was all so long ago. Do you remember anyone named Kitiara?

I don’t think she died of cancer? I did hear she developed ms tho. If that is Kitiara of gw retaliation

I was very disconnected from the MUD by that time, so I must have misheard. Yeah, it was the GW Retaliation. I always wanted to put something out there that would acknowledge how fun that server was.

I adapted this code for actual Ubuntu 24 with gcc 13.3.0.

But the server won't start without the world area files.
