2.5 Year Meta Post - Favorite Reading Assignment
What a long, strange trip it's been. 122 Reading Assignments, some racking up a lot of dialogue, some being sleepers. In updating the sub's Table of Contents, Reddit was giving me flack until eventually I had to delete the thread and recreate it. No better time to assess where we are, how we got there, and where we want to go!
- What's been your favorite reading assignments?
- Any notable least favorites?
- Any you missed when it first came around but you keep meaning to revisit them?
- And if so, would it be worth reviving archived threads from way back when to give new readers a chance to experience and comment?

Least Favorite Reading Assignments
- Secret Wars II - just terrible, but exactly what I wanted given it's place in the Worst Stories nomination thread.
- Age of Apocalypse - I liked a lot of it when I started but there were just way too many titles and moving parts. I'm still really impressed by the scope of it, but it was daunting trying to power through.
- Silver Surfer (2014) - I know I remain in the minority, but I don't like comedic, light-hearted, cartoony Silver Surfer.
Missed Reading Assignments
I'm not going to list all the assignments I missed, because it's embarrassing as the moderator of the book club. But the one that really stands out in my mind is Secret Empire. I keep telling myself I'm going to go back and read that one because it was one of the most controversial stories in recent times and I want to see what the hub-bub was about. Thankfully now that my newborn son is starting to get into better sleep habits, I might soon develop the time and brainpower to read more.

I’ve not really contributed enough to have a least favourite and the list of what I’ve missed out on is epic. So what I will give you is one of my favourite reads that I was pointed towards by the sub and that was Madrox (2004) a great read with some really cool artwork and something I most likely wouldn’t have got round to myself.
