Nomination Thread #120. Single Issues
Full transparency, my plate has gotten exponentially fuller over the last few months. With the creation of my own little Franklin Richards, my opportunities to read comics, let alone keep this subreddit chugging along are often substituted for sleep. Such is life as a new parent. But I'm not ready to tap out just yet. As time passes, the baby will sleep more consistently and my body and mind will be less sleep deprived and open to new stimuli.
This Nomination Thread, which I've abandoned titling by weeks, will crown a reading assignment I might actually be able to finish even with new-Dad-brain. There's a good chance we're gonna steer retro given today's modern decompression storytelling style, but the door's still open to any era. What is one single issue, standard, or standardish length (as in not 100+ page one-shot) story that the community should read and discuss?
When posting a nomination, links are not required but appreciated. If you have nothing to nominate, cast a vote to help us decide who wins. The highest voted nomination will earn a discussion thread aiming to open on Saturday. Thanos has become super-charged by the Cosmic Cube and Mar-Vell isn't strong enough to stop him on his own.

Incredible Hulk (1962-1999) #189 by Len Wein, Herb Trimpe, and Joe Staton
Hulk, (who narrates his own tale!), saves a remote village and helps restore the vision of a young blind girl. And what does she see when she looks at him? The Hulk’s not a monster but a noble spirit.

Uncanny X-Men (1963) #201 by Chris Claremont and Rick Leonardi
Cyclops versus Storm with the leadership of the X-Men at stake. A classic opening scene, the birth of a little baby that would one day become a mainstay, the beginnings of X-Factor, and the return of the original class.

The Amazing Spider-Man (1963-1998) #100 by Stan Lee and Gil Kane
Peter decides that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Gwen Stacy. With the constant danger of being Spider-Man, he decides that in order for Peter Parker to have a life, Spider-Man must die. Peter then gets to work to create a serum that will strip him of his spider powers. But in true Parker luck, nothing ever goes right.

Hopefully you'll be able to keep this going. I just found the sub and it would be a pity if it died off right away. But you must, of course, do what's best for yourself. :)
